Keep in mind, these boots aren't leather but they are nice looking and get lots of compliments. Boots that won't buckle your pocketbook. I can wear them with thick or thin socks plus an insole to provide extra padding on the ball of the foot. The heel is high but very comfortable. There was no breaking-in required. Plus, the soles are made of rubber so they are safe to wear on snowy days. I do think women with larger calves will have trouble with these boots. I have big feet and skinny legs so I often can't wear boots, even with jeans tucked in because the shaft is too wide. With these boots I can tuck in my skinny jeans and have about an inch of room left between the boot and my leg. I think these would fit normal-sized calves perfectly. These are great boots for the price. I'll be ordering the black pair also which I think will appear more like genuine leather than the brown ones. . Sommer. these boots really do look great in person! they run true to size, perhaps even a smidge large, as I found that they were actually a bit loose when I wore them w/tights; w/regular socks, they fit perfectly! for synthetic uppers, these are amazingly attractive and definitely hold their own against my other (more expensive) genuine leather boots, plus these are very soft, almost comparable to lamb leather. beautiful boots!. the shaft is comfortable and flexible, but ladies w/large calves will want to give these a miss - I have 13" calves, and these fit me quite nicely; my guess is that they're ~132008-12-29 Rating 5. 5" circumference in the calf, since it's not specified in the product details. the heel is high, but I spent 2+ hrs on my feet in these boots this weekend and was just fine. my only regret is that I didn't wait a week and snag these for 30% less than what I paid for them (full price, but well worth it). . ! ;\.
